From the eras' of War Memorial Challenge Cup in 1942, the oldest football competition in Nigeria has taken good shape yearly. The 74 year old competition has recorded lots of winners over the past and has given room for history write-up every year. This year final will have two sides playing at the final for the first time ever as we have the Anambra warriors squaring up against the solid miners.

The 2016 final will have two different sides featuring at the final for the first time ever in the history of the competition as FC Ifeanyi Ubah will lock horns with Nasarawa united on Sunday the 6th of November, 2016 at the famous Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.
Meanwhile, the winner of the encounter will pick up the second place ticket to represent Nigeria at the CAF confederation cup alongside Wikki tourist of Bauchi.
